The Seattle Mariners offense has been abysmal this season. That is no surprise. The .216 batting average by the Mariners this season is the worst in Major League Baseball (yes, worse than the lowly Chicago White Sox), and good for the 16th worst batting average as a team in Major League Baseball history. It just hurts to type those numbers on the screen.
But there is a former Seattle Mariner that is lighting it up at the moment and just amplifies how bad our offensive woes have been. A former Seattle Mariner fan favorite, Eugenio Suarez, has been one of the hottest hitters in all baseball for the Arizona Diamondbacks. And since July 1st, Suarez has 47 RBI, which is the most in MLB. But, to make matters worse, check out this stat:
The Mariners have one player with more than 47 RBI ALL SEASON. https://t.co/ttmLm4W7Jm

Yikes. The Mariners have one player the whole season with this many RBI. If this doesn't highlight the absurd nature of the team, I don't know what does. Fans were pretty upset when Suarez was traded during the off-season and well, now, this makes it even worse. Good for Suarez, but this is a tough pill to swallow for Mariner fans. Our offense has basically been bad vibes only.
