Aaron Nola Shuts Down Miami: Phillies Complete Series With Shutout Victory

Aaron Nola was absolutely locked in on Monday night, throwing six scoreless innings as the Philadelphia Phillies blanked the Miami Marlins 1-0 to wrap up their four-game series. One swing was all Philadelphia needed to get it done: Bryce Harper went deep for the only run of the game in front of 7,626 fans (and 167 dogs, because Miami) at loanDepot park.

Nola's Clean Six Innings

When your ace takes the mound and doesn't allow a single run across six innings, you're in a good spot. Nola's performance was the backbone of this victory. The Marlins couldn't find any traction against him, and with Harper's solo shot being the only offense either team needed, the Phillies walked out with the sweep.

Harper's Blast Decides It

One swing. That's baseball sometimes, especially in a pitching duel. Bryce Harper delivered the decisive homer, and the Phillies took care of business in the series finale. It's the kind of game where pitching dominates and one moment of power is enough to separate the teams.

The Phillies head out of Miami with a clean sweep of the four-game series in hand. That's the kind of road trip that sets the tone for what's ahead.
