Ayo Dosunmu Just Dropped 43 Points and the Timberwolves Beat Denver, But the Injury Report Is Brutal

The Minnesota Timberwolves got the win they needed against the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night, pulling out a 112-96 victory. But here's the thing: they might have paid a price that stings way more than the final score feels good.

Coming off the bench, Ayo Dosunmu went absolutely nuclear. The guy shot 13-for-17 from the field and dropped a career-high 43 points to lead the short-handed Wolves to the road win. That's the kind of performance you circle on the calendar. That's the kind of night that reminds you why this team still has serious teeth even when things get thin.

The Win That Cost Them

But Minnesota had to get it done without some serious firepower. Anthony Edwards left the game in the second quarter with a left knee injury and needed help getting to the locker room. That's never what you want to see from your star guard, especially when you're in the middle of everything that matters.

And it wasn't just Edwards. Donte DiVincenzo went down too, adding another body to the injury list. The Timberwolves still found a way to pull the Nuggets apart 112-96, which says something about their depth and fight. But losing Edwards and DiVincenzo in the same game? That's the kind of thing that keeps you up at night.

What's Next

The Wolves got the W they needed, and Dosunmu proved he can step up big when the team needs someone to deliver. But moving forward, Minnesota's going to need to figure out what they've got in terms of roster availability. You can't keep winning if your best players keep getting dinged up.
