Barrett and Barnes Each Drop 33, Raptors Refuse to Go Quietly in Game 3

RJ Barrett couldn't sleep. The Toronto native was too wired thinking about his first home playoff game, and by the time Game 3 tipped off Thursday night, he was ready to make a statement. Him and Scottie Barnes didn't just show up. They showed out. Both dropped 33 points apiece, career playoff highs for each of them, as the Raptors absolutely smothered the Cleveland Cavaliers 126-104 to cut the series deficit to 2-1.

The Night the Raptors Remembered How to Play

Down 0-2 and facing the very real possibility of going back to Cleveland for Game 4 on the edge of elimination, Toronto needed something to prove they belonged. Barrett and Barnes provided exactly that. The duo combined for 66 points in a dominant home performance that showed the Cavaliers what happens when the Raptors actually click together.

"A night like tonight was good to build some confidence and just show that we're here," Barrett said after the game. "We're in this series. When we play like how we did today, everybody together, everybody's playing ha..." He was interrupted, but the message was clear. This wasn't about one game. This was about sending a message that Toronto is still alive.

Career Nights When They Mattered Most

Both Barrett and Barnes hit their career playoff high of 33 points in the same game. That's not a coincidence. That's what happens when role players suddenly become the star power your team desperately needs. The Raptors came out with something to prove after dropping the first two games at home, and for one night, everything worked.

The series now heads back to Cleveland with the Cavaliers still up 2-1, but Toronto just made it clear this thing isn't over. Not yet.
