Blue Jays Explode in Eighth Inning, Bury Twins in 11-4 Rout

Toronto's bats woke up when it mattered most. The Blue Jays put together a massive eighth-inning outburst to run away from Minnesota, finishing off the Twins 11-4 on May 2. It was the kind of game where one inning completely changes the momentum, and the Jays took full advantage.

The Eighth Inning That Changed Everything

This wasn't a close game going into the final stretch. Toronto found its timing in that crucial eighth frame and didn't look back. The offense exploded at exactly the right moment, turning what could have been a tight contest into a blowout. That's championship-caliber baseball right there: when you get your chance, you take it and make it count.

Cease Gets the Win

The Blue Jays pitcher got solid run support and earned the victory. Nothing fancy required when your lineup comes through like that. The Twins, meanwhile, couldn't keep pace. Minnesota's offense managed just four runs, which tells you everything you need to know about how this one played out. Toronto's pitching was strong enough, but the real story was the bats.

Where This Leaves Both Teams

For Toronto, this is exactly the kind of performance that builds momentum. The Blue Jays improved to 16-17 with the win, staying competitive in May. For Minnesota, dropping to 14-20 after this loss is the kind of gut punch that stings. You don't lose by seven runs without feeling it, especially when one inning dictated the entire outcome.

The Jays and Twins are set to face off again on May 3. After a beatdown like this, you can bet Minnesota comes out looking to respond.
