Brandon Ingram Already in a Walking Boot: Raptors' Game 7 Nightmare Just Got Real

The Toronto Raptors are staring down Game 7 of their Eastern Conference first round series, and their star forward Brandon Ingram showed up to shootaround Sunday morning in a walking boot. Yeah, you read that right. Hours before a do-or-die playoff game, Ingram was hobbling around in protective gear, and the team has already downgraded him to doubtful.

The Boot Tells the Story

This isn't some mystery injury that snuck up overnight. Ingram was spotted in the walking boot during Sunday's shootaround, giving everyone a clear visual of exactly how serious this is. The Raptors didn't downgrade him to doubtful for no reason. When a team puts its best player in a walking boot hours before a Game 7, you know the situation is dire.

Game 7 Without Your Best Player

Game 7 scenarios are brutal enough when your full roster is healthy. You're one game away from the offseason, everything is on the line, and emotions are running high. Now Toronto has to game plan without knowing if Ingram will be able to suit up at all. Even if he does play, showing up to shootaround in a walking boot doesn't exactly scream "ready to go" for an elimination game.

The Raptors need answers fast, and they need to be prepared for the very real possibility that they're heading into the biggest game of their season without their offensive engine.
