Chase Dollander Just Struck Out 9 Batters Out of Nowhere and the Rockies Are Suddenly Dangerous

Colorado's bullpen just reminded everyone why you can't sleep on midseason acquisitions. Chase Dollander came out of the pen and absolutely went to work, racking up a career-high nine strikeouts as the visiting Rockies salvaged the finale of their three-game set against Houston with a win. Hunter Goodman kept the momentum rolling too, cranking his third home run of the series to push the Rockies over the top in an interleague matchup that looked like it could have gone either way.

Dollander's Arm Was a Game-Changer

This is the kind of performance that shifts perception fast. Nine strikeouts out of the bullpen isn't just solid. It's the kind of outing that gets scouts' attention and makes you wonder if a team just found something special on the mound. For a Rockies squad fighting to stay relevant, this is the kind of relief appearance that changes how you think about your pitching depth moving forward.

Goodman Keeps Making His Case

Three home runs in a three-game series is a statement. Goodman isn't just showing up. He's putting pressure on opposing pitchers and delivering when it matters. In early season baseball, when momentum is everything, this kind of consistency from a young bat is exactly what you need to string together wins.

One Win Doesn't Fix Everything

Look, the Rockies needed this one to avoid getting swept at home. They got it. But this interleague set against the Astros was a chance to prove something, and salvaging just the final game isn't the statement they probably wanted to make. Still, when you've got a reliever throwing heat like Dollander did and a hitter swinging it like Goodman, there's real reason to believe things are heading in the right direction.
