Chicago Bears Go All In on Trenches and Pass Catchers: Logan Jones, Sam Roush, and Zavion Thomas Land in Round 2-3
The Chicago Bears spent their first two days of the 2026 NFL Draft building around the edges. With trades and strategic picks, Ryan Poles and his front office addressed the offensive line, tight end, and wide receiver depth, signaling a clear direction for how they want to compete this season.
The Offensive Line Priority: Logan Jones at 57th Overall
Trading with the Titans, Chicago snagged Iowa offensive lineman Logan Jones at pick 57 overall in Round 2. Jones got the call from general manager Ryan Poles, head coach Ben Johnson, and President and CEO Kevin Warren. When the Iowa product spoke with the team, he made it clear: Chicago "just felt like home." The Bears are banking on Jones to shore up protection up front, a move that signals Johnson's offense needs bodies who can open lanes and give the quarterback time to work.

The second day wasn't done yet. With the 69th overall pick in Round 3, the Bears selected Stanford tight end Sam Roush. Director of player personnel Trey Koziol was front and center discussing both the Jones and Roush picks, underscoring how serious Chicago is about this receiver room and pass-catching group.
Then came Round 3, pick 89: LSU wide receiver Zavion Thomas. Thomas brought versatility to the Bears' attack, and he virtually addressed the media the day after being selected, excited about what's ahead. Hall of Famer Jimbo Covert announced the pick to the draft audience.
A Complete Day 2 Statement
By the end of Friday, Poles wrapped up his media obligations with a clear message: this Bears team is investing in speed, athleticism, and scheme fit. Three picks spanning offense in two days tells you everything about where Chicago's priorities lie as they gear up for the regular season.
