Cole Young Just Put on an Absolute Show: Two Homers and the Mariners Are Rolling
Cole Young came to play on March 21, and the Seattle Mariners made sure Cleveland knew it. Young crushed two home runs as the M's absolutely dominated the Guardians, 20 to 8, in a performance that had to get the entire Emerald City buzzing heading into the season.
Young's Big Night Sets the Tone
This is the kind of spring performance that sticks with you. Young went deep twice, and when your lineup is producing power like that in March, you've got to feel good about where things are headed. The Mariners didn't just win this one, they put on a hitting clinic against Cleveland, scoring 20 runs and making it look easy.
Offense on Full Display
Twenty runs is not a fluke. That is a lineup firing on all cylinders, and with Cal Raleigh and Julio Rodriguez in the mix, you know the Mariners have the pieces to make some serious noise this season. Young's two-homer night shows the depth of power up and down this roster, which is exactly what you want to see when the real games start mattering.
Spring training is supposed to build momentum and answer questions. Well, the Mariners answered at least one big one today: this team can hit. Young proved he belongs in the conversation, Cleveland got a harsh reminder of what it is like to face a hot lineup, and Seattle fans have something to feel genuinely excited about heading into Opening Day.
