Cristian Roldan Went Off at Lumen Field and the Sounders Buried St. Louis City
The Seattle Sounders came out swinging Saturday night at Lumen Field and turned it into a statement performance, dropping St. Louis City SC 4-1. And yeah, it was exactly as dominant as it sounds. Cristian Roldan stole the show with two goals, putting the team on his back and reminding everyone why he belongs in the conversation when we talk about this roster's best offensive threats.
Roldan's Night Was Unstoppable
A brace at home. That's the kind of performance that shifts momentum fast, and Roldan delivered exactly when the Sounders needed it most. The goals came as part of a second half explosion that just buried St. Louis City. You don't see that kind of individual dominance every week, and when one of your guys goes off like that, the whole team feels it. This is the level we need to see consistently if the Sounders are going to make some noise this season.

It wasn't just Roldan carrying the load either. Albert Rusnak added a third goal in the 49th minute, and Osaze De Rosario scored the fourth. Four different scorers putting the ball in the net sends a message that this offense has options and isn't relying on one guy. St. Louis City couldn't keep up with the pace or the precision, and honestly, they never had a chance once Seattle started clicking in the second half.
This is the kind of win that builds confidence heading into the next matchup. The Sounders showed what they're capable of when everyone is locked in and executing. Lumen Field was the right place for this kind of performance too. That's what you want to see from a team trying to build something special this season.
