Ducks Break 9-Year Curse With First Playoff Series Win Since 2017, Eliminate Oilers

Anaheim just knocked down the door in the Stanley Cup playoffs, and they're not looking back. The Ducks claimed their first playoff series victory since 2017 by eliminating the Oilers, ending a drought that's been way too long for a franchise with championship DNA.

Three Ducks, One Dominant Performance

Chris Kreider, Troy Terry, and Leo Carlsson each scored once and picked up three points apiece, leading the way in what turned out to be a decisive series-clinching game. The Ducks took down the Oilers 5-2, making a statement that they're not just happy to be here. These three guys showed up when it mattered most, and that kind of balanced scoring attack is exactly what you need in the playoffs.

Breaking Through After Years of Disappointment

Think about that for a second. Since 2017, the Ducks have been knocking on the door in the playoffs and coming up empty. That's nearly a decade of frustration. Now they've busted through and they're headed to the second round. This isn't just about winning one series. This is about proving that Anaheim belongs in the conversation when it matters most.

The Oilers are heading home, and the Ducks are moving on. That's playoff hockey right there.
