Ducks Finally Break Their Nine-Year Curse, Eliminate Oilers in First Playoff Series Win Since 2017
Anaheim is back. After nearly a decade of playoff heartbreak, the Ducks just completed their first postseason series victory since 2017, sending the Oilers packing with a decisive 5-2 win. This wasn't some fluky one-game miracle either. Chris Kreider, Troy Terry, and Leo Carlsson all found the back of the net and each recorded three points in the clincher. That's the kind of balanced scoring attack that actually wins in the playoffs.
The Ducks Are Actually Dangerous Right Now
Think about what this means: Anaheim has been starving for a playoff series win for nine seasons. Nine. That's a long drought for any franchise, especially one with the history the Ducks have. But they're not sneaking past anybody anymore. When you've got multiple weapons scoring at once and you're knocking off a team like Edmonton, you're announcing that you belong in the conversation.

The Ducks are moving into the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, and the league has to be paying attention now. This isn't a fluke run. They've shown they can execute when it matters, and their depth scoring is legit. The Oilers are heading home, and Anaheim is dancing deeper into May with real momentum behind them.
