Flyers Explode for 3 in the 2nd and Stun Penguins, Now Up 3-0 in First Round
Philadelphia just took complete control of their first-round series. The Flyers stormed back with a three-goal barrage in the second period to topple Pittsburgh 5-2 on April 22, and they've now got a commanding 3-0 series lead that has the Penguins on the brink of elimination.
The Second Period Was Everything
This is where the Flyers put the game out of reach. After a scoreless first period, Philadelphia came out in the second and absolutely dominated, lighting the lamp three times to seize control. It was a gut-punch for Pittsburgh, who couldn't find an answer defensively when it mattered most. The Penguins managed to get one back in the third, but by then the damage was done. Final score: Flyers 5, Penguins 2.

With a 3-0 lead in a best-of-seven first-round series, Philadelphia is one win away from advancing. Pittsburgh has their backs to the wall and desperately needs to find a way to claw back into this thing. The Penguins can't afford to let this slip away, but the Flyers have shown they have the firepower to finish the job when they take the ice next.
