Former Seahawks Head Coach Pete Carroll Lands Las Vegas Raiders Coaching Job

It's always an odd feeling seeing you're legendary coaches or players from your favorite team in different colors. The Seattle Seahawks have seen a lot of legends, like Bobby Wagner and Russell Wilson, move on to new teams as an era came to and end.

At the end of last season the Seahawks also decided it was time to end the era as a whole by moving off Super Bowl winning head coach Pete Carroll. No one knew if we would see Pete Carroll coach again, given the fact that he is in his 70s.

Carroll took a job a months ago at USC, where he won multiple National Championships, to teach a class. Just a few months later, he got his opportunity to be a culture changer in Las Vegas.

Pete Carroll is now the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders and landed a three-year deal with a fourth-year potential option.

Carroll, who turns 74 on Sept. 15, is one of four head coaches to have led teams to both a college football national championship and the Super Bowl. The others are Barry Switzer, Jimmy Johnson and Jim Harbaugh.

He is also now the oldest head coach in NFL history, but with Pete Carroll you'd never know it, as his energy is better than most people you'll ever meet.

If he finishes this contract, we might never see anyone take this record from Pete Carroll as he would be coaching the Raiders until the age of 78, and we will see if it goes beyond that.

With the Seattle Seahawks, Carroll won Super Bowl XLVIII and a pair of NFC titles, and made 10 playoff appearances in 14 years while going 137-89-1 in the regular season, 10-9 in the postseason to become the winningest coach in Seahawks history.

This is a home run for the Raiders for a team that badly needs a culture change, we have clearly see Carroll do it in the NFL with the Seahawks, and in college with USC.
