Four Straight Wins in 24 Hours and Seattle Sports Fans Are Losing It

Picture this: you wake up Wednesday morning and by Thursday night, your entire city's sports scene has flipped. That's what just went down, and honestly, it might be the most electric 24-hour stretch we've seen in Seattle sports in years.

Wednesday Night: The Kraken Punch First

It started at 10:50 PM on Wednesday when Adam Larsson sent the Canucks packing with an overtime snipe, and the Kraken advanced to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Everything about this moment was perfect. The celebration. The stick toss. The entire Climate Pledge Arena losing it. Joey Daccord had the opposing team in absolute hell all game long, and the FlyGuys sealed it on home ice. This wasn't just a win. This was a statement.

Thursday Afternoon and Night: The Mariners Go Nuts

Then Thursday hits at 3:05 PM, and Cal Raleigh walks it off for the Mariners in the front end of a doubleheader. Julio Rodriguez launches a perfect home run in true Rodriguez fashion. Solid win at T-Mobile Park, and the vibe is building.

But wait, there's more. At 9:15 PM, the Mariners complete the sweep with another walkoff. Two walkoffs in one day is sick enough on its own. But what makes this wild is how it happened. People say the Mariners are all or nothing, all homers and no small ball. Yet both of these wins came from just putting the ball in play. The clubhouse is clicking. The team is now on a winning streak after a rough stretch, and they're finally trending in the right direction.

Thursday Night Caps It Off

Then the Sounders cap off this insane run with a dominant performance at 10:30 PM. After things looked impossible just days ago, they find their groove and pull off a full-blown beatdown. For the first time in what felt like forever, Seattle fans are actually seeing what this team can do.

Listen, the Kraken have plenty of hockey left before hoisting the Cup. The Mariners could stall tomorrow. The Sounders still have huge matches ahead. But seeing all three go a combined 4-0 in one day, in the way they did it? That's the most fun Seattle sports fans have had in a damn minute. And we're going to bask in it.
