France Gets 2031 Basketball World Cup, Tokyo Will Host Women's Tournament in 2030

The FIBA Central Board just made the call on two massive basketball events, and it's reshaping the next five years of international hoops. France is locked in as the host city for the 2031 FIBA Basketball World Cup, while Japan will get the Women's World Cup in 2030. Tokyo is the confirmed host for the women's tournament.

The Biggest Stage Goes to France

This is huge for French basketball. Hosting a Men's World Cup puts you on the global stage and brings the whole world's attention to your cities. France gets to show off not just the game, but the country itself. The FIBA Central Board made the formal decision, which means years of planning, venue preparation, and hype are about to ramp up in a big way.

Tokyo's Turn for Women's Basketball

Meanwhile, Japan is getting its shot with the Women's World Cup in 2030. That's actually a big deal too. The women's tournament has exploded in popularity, and having it in Japan means basketball fans across Asia get to witness elite-level play on home soil. Tokyo as a host city means world-class facilities and a massive audience hungry for basketball.

These aren't small decisions. When FIBA picks hosts, it's because they believe those countries and cities can deliver. France in 2031 and Tokyo in 2030 are locked in. Mark your calendars.
