50 Points From Gabby Williams and Veronica Burton and Nobody in the WNBA Is Ready For It

Holy smokes, you guys! If you didn't catch the Golden State Valkyries' Commissioner's Cup game on Tuesday, you missed an absolute show. Veronica Burton and Gabby Williams combined for a mind-blowing 50 points, leading the Valkyries to an 87-81 victory over the Phoenix Mercury at Chase Center. Talk about coming out swinging, huh? That's the kind of performance that just makes you wanna stand up and cheer.

Valkyries' Dynamic Duo Takes Over

Look, 50 points from two players in one game? That's insane production! Veronica Burton was locked in, tying her season-high with 25 points against the Mercury. And Gabby Williams, wow, she was just as dialed in, contributing big to that 50-point total. These two are absolutely scorching right now. This team's just got a vibe, you know? They’re playing for 'Youth UpRising' in the Commissioner’s Cup, and you can tell they're playing with purpose. They even set a franchise record recently with 18 three-pointers in a Commissioner's Cup win over the Fire. That's not just luck, that's skill and chemistry firing on all cylinders!

Gabby Williams' Huge Numbers (Even in a Tough Loss)

Now, get this. While Gabby Williams was a huge part of Tuesday's win, she actually dropped a career-high 27 points in a *loss* to the Las Vegas Aces just a few days earlier, on June 6. Think about that for a second: a career high, and it still wasn't enough to get the W against Vegas. That's gotta sting, but it also shows you the kind of pure talent Gabby Williams is bringing to the court every single night. Even when the Valkyries fell to the Lynx recently, Zandalasini put up a season-high 18 points. It's clear they've got some serious offensive firepower even if the wins aren't always there. Oh, and the Valkyries even signed center Nadia Fingall to a rest-of-season contract, so they're making moves to keep building that roster depth. So, what's next for the Valkyries? They're back in action on Tuesday, June 16, facing off against the Los Angeles Sparks. Then they'll host the Dallas Wings on Thursday, June 18. If Burton and Williams keep dropping numbers like this, you absolutely need to tune in. You won't wanna miss what these two can do together. This is the kind of basketball that makes you believe, folks!
