Lane Hutson Beats Lightning in OT and Montreal Just Grabbed Control of This Series

The Montreal Canadiens are one win away from advancing. Lane Hutson scored the overtime winner to push Montreal to a 2-1 series lead over the Tampa Bay Lightning, and suddenly this matchup looks a lot different than it did two games ago.

Hutson Delivers the Dagger

In a playoff series that's been tight throughout, Hutson came through in the biggest moment. The OT winner gives the Habs the edge heading back to Montreal, and that's huge for a team that needs momentum swinging its way. This isn't some random playoff moment either, this is the kind of play that defines runs in April hockey. Hutson stepping up in overtime tells you everything about where this Canadiens team is right now.

Montreal Takes Control

Being up 2-1 in a best-of-seven means Montreal is in the driver's seat. They're one win away from moving on, and with the next games back at home, the pressure flips entirely onto Tampa Bay. The Lightning need to respond fast, or this series could slip away from them in a hurry. This is the kind of moment where one team's season either shifts into gear or starts falling apart.

Game 4 is coming, and the Canadiens are walking in with all the momentum. That's the position every team wants to be in come playoff time.
