Lawson Crouse Goes Nuclear in Utah's Playoff Home Debut, Mammoth Take Series Lead Over Vegas

The Utah Mammoth are one win away from advancing, and they did it the right way on Friday night. Lawson Crouse absolutely owned the second period, ripping two goals 42 seconds apart to spark a dominant 4-2 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 3 of their Western Conference quarterfinals series. With that win, Utah now holds a 2-1 series edge and all the momentum heading back to Sin City.

Crouse Takes Over in the Middle Frame

This is what playoff hockey looks like when one player gets hot at exactly the right moment. Crouse's pair of second-period strikes weren't just goals, they were statement plays. Two goals in 42 seconds? That's the kind of performance that shifts an entire series. The Mammoth doubled up Vegas 4-2, and you could feel the energy swing the moment those tallies hit the board. That's not a squeaker. That's a team that came to play in their first home playoff game and showed exactly why they belong.

Utah One Win Away

The Mammoth are sitting pretty with a 2-1 series lead. Vegas has the talent to fight back, but Utah proved on Friday that when they get rolling at home, they're dangerous. The Golden Knights scored twice, sure, but four goals on home ice in a must-win scenario? That's the kind of performance that sends your team back to Vegas feeling confident about the road ahead.

Game 4 is coming, and the Mammoth have their shot to close this out on enemy ice. One more win and Utah moves on.
