Lehkonen's Two Points Puts Avalanche One Win Away From Sweeping Kings

The Colorado Avalanche are knocking on the door of a first-round series sweep after Artturi Lehkonen delivered a goal and an assist to lead them past the Los Angeles Kings 4-2 on Thursday night. Playing on the road, Colorado is now positioned to close out their Western Conference first-round playoff series with one more win.

Lehkonen Leads the Charge

Lehkonen's multi-point performance was the engine that got the Avalanche rolling in Game 3. His combination of scoring and setting up teammates showcased the kind of two-way production Colorado needs when they're chasing a sweep. The Kings fought back and managed to put two goals on the board, but it wasn't enough to derail the visitors from claiming the 4-2 road victory.

On the Verge

With this win, the Avalanche have put themselves in the driver's seat of the series. One more victory and they move on, leaving the Kings facing elimination. The road atmosphere clearly didn't rattle Colorado, who converted their chances and maintained control through the night. Gabriel Landeskog was part of the effort, contributing to the team's balance and depth scoring that has defined their postseason run so far.

The Avalanche are one game away from a clean sweep in the first round. If they get it done in Game 4, they'll be moving forward quickly while the Kings pack their bags. That's the kind of dominant performance that breeds momentum heading into the next round.
