Leon Draisaitl Scored Twice and the Oilers Just Forced Game 6 in Anaheim

The Edmonton Oilers are still alive. Barely. Leon Draisaitl scored two goals, including a power play one-timer, to keep the Oilers from getting eliminated on home ice. They're heading back to Anaheim for Game 6 after surviving another day in this series.

Draisaitl Takes Over When It Matters Most

This wasn't pretty, but it got the job done. Draisaitl's first goal came off a redirection that extended the lead to 3-0. His second was the dagger: a one-time power play blast that sealed it. When a team is staring elimination in the face, you need your best players to show up. Draisaitl showed up.

Vasily Podkolzin got things started with the opening goal earlier in the game, giving Edmonton something to build on. But it was Draisaitl's performance that made sure the Oilers wouldn't be going home early.

The Oilers Find a Way to Survive

Edmonton had talked about needing to find "another level as a group," and Game 5 was the moment that mattered most. Lose and you're done. Win and you fight another day. The Oilers chose to keep fighting.

Now the series shifts back to Anaheim for Game 6, where the Ducks will get a chance to close things out at home. The Oilers have bought themselves more time, but the clock is still ticking.
