Make it five-straight losses for the Seattle Mariners, against teams that are not contenders, or even in a playoff spot right now. Mariners have dropped three-games to the Tigers, and then two-games to the Pirates. The Mariners are now 3.5 games back of the AL West top spot, and 5 games back of the Wild Card.
Our two co-founders, brothers @GeorgeONTap and @SamiONTap will each break down some of their thoughts from today:
George's Thoughts:
RIP to the 2024 Seattle Mariners. Season is over. When you strive to be mediocre, SHOCKER you get a mediocre product.
I don't want to hear anything positive from this fan base either. This is actually the fault of Mariners twitter and the fan base. For being so happy this off-season about our 'upgrades.'
We took the most conservative route to 'get better' we demand nothing from this front office after Jerry Dipoto's slap in the face "54%" comments. We did this to ourselves.
I was one of them that believed too. I feel like an idiot. We are wasting a pitching staff unlike one we probably will ever see again too. This is just a joke of a team, a joke of a franchise.
CLEAN THE HOUSE this off-season for Gods sake. I plain and simply do not believe in Jerry Dipoto or Scott Servais or their plan anymore.
Sami's Thoughts:
It's hard to the see the positive at this point. I have tried, many different times, to just look at the good side of things, but it's hard when you know the division is going to get out of reach soon, and the wild card is pretty much getting out of reach already.
What leads me to believe there is any chance this group of guys turns it around? What evidence is there? NONE.
If this season ends again with no playoffs, that is two years in a row, two season where the 'goal' was to win it all, and we didn't even make the playoffs. Sure you could blame this on John Stanton for being cheap, BUT you can also blame Jerry Dipoto for now finding the right guys at the right price.
If we miss the playoffs, I say fire them all. Fire Jerry, Fire Scott Servais, the entire staff needs to be gone. Gut it all.

I’ve been saying for the last ten years Scott servais qualifies as the worst manager in baseball and wasn’t much better as a player , he cost the team a minimum of 30 games a year which an all- star team couldn’t overcome, has no idea how to manufacture runs while having the best pitching staff in baseball and apparently the front office are just as bad if they can’t recognize that the manager sucks , so I totally agree let’s get rid of all of them , and by the way thanks for buying root sports so the people that can’t afford another 18 dollars a month can’t watch the M’s and root for their team , all the people that live in Seattle, you all should be ashamed of yourselves , your nothing but greedy thieves extorting money from your fan base you have had for years your getting what you deserve
There to reliant on analytics to make decisions instead of the eye when a pitcher is cruzin he get pulled after 80 or so pitches. Servis has no business being the manager he doesn’t know how to light a fire under these guys asses the only guy I’d keep from the staff is negrom, Woolworth and Perry hill. Make Perry hill the manager guys play hard for him

The coaching staff and management has damaged nearly every hitter that has ever played here under their regime. They ruined France, Suarez, Teo Hernandez, Kelenic, and now Polanco, Garver, Haniger, Turner and Arozarena. It may be that that some were just “done” but often these sort of players go on to succeed elsewhere. But this is an awful team to watch. Uppercut swings, record-setting strikeouts, no strategy of putting the ball in play, no speed, deficient defense, no bench depth. These are major league players, supposedly the best of the best, therefore this is on the organization.
My wife and I watch all of the Mariners games. We are not going to analyze this team. All we can say is that we are very disappointed. I expect there is going to be a major shakeup and we feel it’s needed.
