Morris and Ferreira Keep Sounders Rolling, Stay Unbeaten in Six Games

The Seattle Sounders are quietly becoming one of the best stories in MLS right now. Jordan Morris and Jesus Ferreira combined to put away two goals Saturday night, and the Sounders defense held up just enough to beat FC Dallas 2-1 and extend their unbeaten streak to six straight games.

That's 5 wins and 1 draw over the last six for Seattle (6-1-1), and this team is starting to look dangerous. Andrew Thomas was solid in net with five saves, including some crucial moments late when Dallas got desperate trying to claw back into it.

Morris Takes Over Early

The Sounders struck fast and hard. Ferreira opened the scoring in the 15th minute, finishing off a cross from Morris on the counter-attack. Less than 15 minutes later, Morris made it 2-0 when he slipped behind the Dallas defense, caught up to a ball played ahead by Snyder Brunell, and flicked a shot from the center of the box past the keeper.

That was the kind of efficient, clinical attacking the Sounders need to stay competitive. Two chances, two goals. That's the formula when you're rolling.

Dallas Scratches One Back

FC Dallas did get one back in the 40th minute when Nolan Norris flicked in a header off a corner from Santiago Moreno. The 21-year-old homegrown defender buried his first career MLS goal in his fourth season with the club, and suddenly it was 2-1.

Dallas (3-3-4) has now lost four straight and is looking for answers. Michael Collodi made four saves for the Stars, but it wasn't enough to keep up with Seattle's pace.

The Sounders head into their next fixture with real momentum. This unbeaten run is starting to feel like something special, and if Morris and Ferreira keep converting chances like this, Seattle fans have plenty to be excited about.
