Napheesa Collier Just Locked In $1.4 Million With Minnesota and That's Actually Wild
The Minnesota Lynx just made a power move that nobody in the league saw coming. Two-time WNBA MVP runner-up Napheesa Collier is staying put in Minnesota on a one-year supermax deal worth $1.4 million, according to ESPN. In a league where stars are always looking for the next opportunity, Collier doubled down on the Lynx at the exact moment when she had all the leverage to walk.
The Supermax Bet on Continuity
This isn't just a contract. This is Collier saying she believes in what the Lynx are building right now. A one-year supermax deal is a statement. It's short term, sure, but it's also the richest deal the franchise can offer her, which tells you everything about how serious Minnesota is about keeping her in the fold. For a player who has been a runner-up for MVP honors twice, this is Collier betting on herself and her teammates to make a deeper run.

Keep Collier and you keep your veteran core intact heading into the stretch. The Lynx are locking in their forward depth and staying competitive at the highest level. One year out, Collier hits free agency again and can reassess, but for now, Minnesota gets to keep one of the league's most reliable two-way players on the roster. That's the kind of stability that championship teams are built on.
The Lynx made their play and Collier answered the call. Watch for this team to compete hard as the season rolls forward.
