Nikola Jokic Laid an Absolute Egg in Game 3 and Now Denver Is Looking at a 2-1 Hole

The Denver Nuggets just got punched in the mouth in Minnesota, and their best player didn't show up when it mattered most. Nikola Jokic had what coach David Adelman called a "disgusting" Game 3 blowout loss, and now the Nuggets are staring down a 2-1 series deficit heading back to Colorado. This is not how you want to be playing in the playoffs right now.

Jokic's Rare Misfire

Look, Nikola Jokic doesn't have many bad games. He's the MVP-caliber guy who carries Denver night in and night out. But Game 3 in Minnesota? That wasn't him. Adelman didn't sugarcoat it either, offering that telling excuse: "He Just Missed." When your coach is reaching for explanations after a playoff loss, you know something went wrong. The Nuggets got blown out, and their franchise player couldn't find his rhythm when it mattered most. That's the kind of stinker that haunts a team in a series.

The Comeback Starts Now

Aaron Gordon is listed as probable with left calf tightness heading into Game 3, marking the first time this series that Gordon has shown up on the injury report. That's one concern Denver can't afford right now. The Nuggets need to get back home to Denver, regroup, and figure out how to get Jokic right again. You don't win a playoff series without your best player playing his best basketball, and Game 4 is a must-win if this team wants to avoid falling further behind.

The Nuggets have gone through plenty of ups and downs this season, but being down 2-1 with their best player struggling? That's the kind of moment that defines playoff runs. Denver needs to respond fast, or this series could slip away entirely.
