Oilers Still Don't Know Who's Starting in Net for Game 4, and That's a Problem

Here's the thing about the Stanley Cup Playoffs: you want clarity heading into a must-win game. Edmonton? They don't have it. The Oilers haven't decided on a starting goalie for Game 4 of their first-round matchup, and with the series hanging in the balance, that's the kind of uncertainty that can cost you.

The Goalie Question at the Worst Possible Time

The Oilers are facing a critical moment in their first-round series against Anaheim. Game 4 is coming up, and normally by this point in a playoff run, you'd expect your team to have settled on who's between the pipes. Not Edmonton. The coaching staff still hasn't made up their mind on which goalie gets the net for this one. When you're trying to stay alive in the playoffs, that kind of indecision feels like a luxury you can't afford.

What This Means for the Rest of the Series

In a best-of-seven first-round series, momentum is everything. If Edmonton is still figuring out their goalie situation heading into Game 4, it suggests they might not have a clear picture of who gives them the best chance to win right now. That uncertainty filters down through the whole roster. Do the skaters trust the guy in front of them? Does the defense know what they're working with?

The Oilers need to make a decision fast and stick with it. Whether it's one goalie or the other, the team needs to show up with confidence and conviction. Right now, it sounds like they're still searching for answers. In the playoffs, that search usually doesn't end the way you want it to.
