Seahawks vs. Lions: Two QBs That Were Written Off...

The Seattle Seahawks vs. Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football, primetime, this is a big one. The Seahawks started the year 3-0, and the Lions have hopes to be a Super Bowl contender.

Now, that's not the story that we love about this game... It's the two quarterbacks that are facing off. Geno Smith and Jared Goff were both written off, but they did not write back to the NFL:

Obviously this is the famous line from Geno Smith after beating Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos in his 1st game of being the official full-time QB of the Seahawks in 2022.

They have different stories, but let's talk about Geno Smith. He was a young 23 year-old with the New York Jets and only got two years of play before they decided he was not that guy.

Smith bounced around to the New York Giants, then Los Angeles Chargers, and then landed with the Seahawks. He was a backup in all these stops. After SIX years of being a full-time backup, he got his chance.

The Seattle Seahawks saw what he could do in 4 games with Russell Wilson out, and they decided to trade away Russell Wilson and go with Geno Smith as their guy. From 25 years-old to 32 years-old, just a backup. Eventually he got his $100 million dollar contract, and he's the franchise QB of the Seahawks.

Now, the Jared Goff story is not a long, and not as serious as Geno Smith's, but he was also written off by a team.

Jared Goff was the number one overall pick in the NFL draft to the Los Angeles Rams, and he eventually led them to a Super Bowl. Despite taking them to a Super Bowl, the Rams sent him to the worst team in football, the Detroit Lions.

The Rams basically said that Goff was not good enough for them, and now he has helped change the Lions franchise, and has become the franchise-QB for the future.
