The Seattle Mariners had critical errors in Pittsburgh today, leading to another loss, the fourth straight. We all know the offense has been the biggest issue for the Mariners, but today, the offense at least produced three runs.
Now, three runs is nothing to celebrate, but they were facing Paul Skenes, and it's a better start to the series compared to four-runs TOTAL that they had in the three-game set against the Tigers.
The real issue today, the three errors by the Mariners. When your offense is already struggling, and the pitching is doing everything it can, you can't afford to have three errors.
On top of that, this two-out diving catch attempt by Dom Canzone was not caught, making it at 5-3 lead for the Pirates. This was not an error, but it sure did not help the results of the defense today.
The Mariners fall further behind, 5-2, after Austin Voth surrendered a two-run, two-out double to Oneil Cruz here in the 7th inning.

Yesterday, I attempted to be positive after the game. Maybe the Mariners just had a bad couple days, but no. The team continues to look lifeless at times and they continue to fall down the AL West standings and the Wild Card standings.
At this point, it's hard to even consider how to feel about the rest of the season... At the time of writing this the Houston Astros might lose to the White Sox today, which will keep the Mariners only three games behind. In most situations, three games would not feel like a big deal, but if you are a fan of this team, you will understand that it is a big deal. From a ten-game lead to three-games back, and the feeling that it's never going to be possible to catch back up.
Will I stop watching? No. Will I give up my blind faith? No.
But I do admit it's blind faith, I do admit that it's hard to believe. I also understand the type of fans that do not want to believe anymore. Fan the way you want to fan. For some reason, being a fan of this team for the last 20-30 years, since I was old enough to remember games, I am getting used to this feeling of stress and disappointment...
MAYBE, just maybe, one day if we do finally reach the mountain top, it will be all worth it.
[I do admit that last sentence was a little dramatic, but that's how it feels every time the Mariners find more ways to lose games and lose their position in the standings.]
On top of this all, the Pittsburgh Pirates were are a TEN GAME LOSING STREAK. Of course, the Seattle Mariners come to town and the streak ends immediately. It just adds injury to insult. Classic Mariners.
Anyways, guess what? I will be back up at 10am Saturday morning, blindly hoping this team has the juice to turn this four-game losing streak, into a four-game winning streak.

It’s been long over due to fire Servais he’s a terrible manager. I don’t think he knows how to manufacture a run when it calls for it. His team gets first two players on you have players that can’t hit coming up so a smart manager would bunt he has them swinging away and we end up with the players right where they started. Okay we didn’t get a big bat but we have enough to win if we had a better manager.
