The Seattle Seahawks lose to the Detroit Lions 42-29, on Monday Night Football, in a shootout. Both defenses either gave up a lot of points, or a lot of yards, but the Seahawks came up short.
The Seahawks out-gained the Lions 516 yards to 389 yards, but still the defense for the Seahawks gave up 42 points.
There is a few excuses to be made, but excuses don't always mean it's the reason it all happened.
The Seahawks defense was missing Boye Mafe, Uchenna Nwosu, Jerome Baker, Boye Mafe, and Byron Murphy. Is that an excuse? Yes, but it played a role.
The refs also missed and made a lot of key calls that ended Seahawks drives. DK Metcalf was IN on a 2-point conversion and they didn't review it. DK Metcalf also got held in the endzone and it was not called.
On top of that, the Seahawks drive ended on a bad offense pass interference call on Tyler Lockett that would've been on a game tying drive.
Excuses? Yes. But it also was an issue that affected the game.
On top next week. New York Giants next. Time to get a win.
