Seattle Seahawks Trade OT Michael Jerrell To Atlanta Falcons

The Seattle Seahawks are trading second-year offensive tackle Michael Jerrell to the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for a conditional 2027 seventh-round draft pick, according to a report from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. Jerrell was originally a 6th round pick for the Seahawks in 2024.

Jerrell was a very interesting draft pick that day due to the fact he went to a Division II school, the University of Findlay. It was a really cool story to see a ONE-YEAR High School Varsity starter become a D2 football player, then end up being drafted in the NFL. Unfortunately, he has not panned out for the Seahawks.

The report comes just hours ahead of the NFL’s 53-man roster cutdown deadline of 1 p.m. Tuesday. The Seahawks have already been making a lot of cuts, but they were able to bring back a draft pick for Jerrell.

Jerrell played 250 offensive snaps last year – 245 at right tackle and five at left tackle. He posted a 46.4 Pro Football Focus grade, which ranked 82nd out of 86 NFL offensive tackles who played at least 250 snaps. He posted a 64.8 PFF grade over three preseason games, which ranked eighth out of 13 Seahawks offensive linemen. He allowed no pressures through the first two preseason games, but surrendered a sack and a quarterback hurry in Saturday’s preseason finale against the Green Bay Packers, according to PFF.

The Falcons lost starting right tackle Kaleb McGary, a UW Huskies product and native of Fife, Wash., to a lower left leg injury last week.
