Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder Just Swept the Suns Out of the Playoffs

The Oklahoma City Thunder are heading to the Western Conference semifinals, and they did it in four games. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander earned Player of the Night honors on April 27 as OKC dominated Game 4 against Phoenix with a 131-122 victory, finishing off a clean sweep of the Suns.

Thunder's Bench Showed Up When It Mattered Most

This wasn't some one-man show. The Thunder's efficient offense extended all the way to the bench, and the Suns simply couldn't find enough answers. When you're getting contributions up and down the lineup like that in the playoffs, you're headed somewhere. OKC proved that depth wins in April and May.

What's Next for Oklahoma City

The Thunder are moving on to face whoever wins the other Western Conference matchups. They've got the momentum, they've got the efficiency on offense, and they've got a roster that can score from anywhere on the floor. This sweep was convincing, clean, and exactly the kind of statement a team wants to make early in the postseason.

Elsewhere in the playoffs, the Nuggets forced a Game 6 against Minnesota with a 125-113 win. Three-time MVP Nikola Jokić recorded a triple-double with 27 points, 12 rebounds, and 16 assists to keep Denver alive. The Magic went up 3-1 on the Pistons with a 94-88 victory, the Celtics moved to 3-1 against the 76ers, and the Knicks-Hawks series headed to Game 5 at Madison Square Garden.
