Shohei Ohtani Struck Out Eight and the Dodgers Aren't Letting Anyone Forget It

Look, if you didn't catch what Shohei Ohtani did against the Giants on Tuesday night, you need to know this right now: eight strikeouts over seven shutout innings. That's the kind of performance that reminds you why this guy is still doing things nobody else in baseball can pull off. The Dodgers got the win, and honestly, it wasn't even close once Ohtani took the mound.

Eight K's in Seven Perfect Innings

Ohtani was dealing. Seven innings of scoreless baseball, eight strikeouts, and the Giants couldn't figure him out. This is peak Ohtani baseball right here. The guy threw everything the Dodgers needed and then some. When you're striking out batters at that rate while keeping the other team off the board completely, you've done your job and then taken someone else's job too.

Getting the W When It Counts

The win goes to Ohtani, and that's exactly what happens when you pitch like that. This is the stuff that matters in early May. The Dodgers needed this kind of dominant pitching performance, and Ohtani delivered exactly what the lineup needed to lean on. It's the kind of game that sticks with you and reminds you what elite performance looks like on the mound.

May 13, 2026 is going to be one of those dates Dodgers fans remember. Not because of a crazy comeback or some dramatic ninth inning heroics, but because Ohtani went out there and completely shut down an entire offense. Seven frames, nobody scored, eight guys went down swinging. That's baseball at its most dominant.
