Six West Seattle High School Athletes Get Major Recognition at Scholar-Athlete Banquet

West Seattle High School just had a serious moment to celebrate. Six of their student-athletes were honored at the Washington Athletic Club's 101 Club Scholar-Athlete Banquet, and WSHS athletic director Corey Sorenson made sure to highlight what makes each of them special.

Who Got the Nod

Isabella Baber was one of the honorees. The multi-sport athlete competed in swim and dive, cheerleading, basketball, and water polo. She's the captain of the swim and dive team, leading with consistency and poise that set the standard for her teammates.

That's the kind of well-rounded athlete that puts West Seattle on the map. You don't get to captain a competitive team like swim and dive without earning serious respect from your coaches and teammates.

What This Recognition Means

The 101 Club Scholar-Athlete Banquet isn't just handing out participation trophies. This is the Washington Athletic Club recognizing kids who excel both in competition and in the classroom. Getting named to this list means you're doing the hard work on two fronts: showing up for your sport and showing up for your grades.

With Baber and five other West Seattle athletes getting recognized, the school's athletic program is clearly developing people who understand that being a student-athlete means handling both parts of the title seriously.

Looking Ahead

The West Seattle athletic community has reason to be proud. These six student-athletes are representing the school the right way, and that kind of excellence builds a program's culture. Whether it's in the pool, on the court, or in the classroom, they're showing what it takes to compete at a high level while staying focused on education.
