Stephon Castle Dropped 33 and the Spurs Just Took Control Without Wembanyama

The San Antonio Spurs walked into Portland and stole Game 3, and it wasn't even close. Stephon Castle went absolutely nuclear for 33 points to lead the way, and rookie reserve Dylan Harper backed him up with a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds. This is the kind of performance that wins series, especially when you're missing your superstar.

Castle Takes Over When It Matters Most

Castle's 33-point night was the headline, but it was Harper's performance off the bench that might've been even more impressive. A rookie putting up 27 and 10 in a playoff game? That's not a fluke. That's a statement. The Spurs showed they have multiple weapons, and Portland had no answer for either of them. This wasn't a nail-biter either. The Spurs roared back and took control of this series in enemy territory.

San Antonio Proving It's Not a One-Man Team

Playing without Wembanyama and still getting a convincing road win tells you everything you need to know about where this Spurs team is right now. They've got depth. They've got young talent stepping up. And most importantly, they've got the kind of offensive firepower that can carry them through a series even when their best player isn't on the floor.

Portland's got work to do heading home. The Spurs just took the series edge back to San Antonio, and momentum is a real thing in the playoffs. Castle and Harper made sure of that.
