The Browns Just Won the 2026 NFL Draft and Mel Kiper Jr. Has the Receipts

The 2026 NFL Draft is officially in the books. Seven rounds, 257 new players, and one team walked out of Pittsburgh with something special. While some squads made solid additions and a few reached for question marks, there's one clear winner emerging from the chaos, and draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. isn't shy about calling it.

Kiper Names the Four Best in the Business

Kiper handed out just four "A" grades for the entire 2026 draft weekend. The Browns, Cowboys, Raiders, and Eagles all earned top marks. But here's the thing: out of those four, Cleveland is sitting at the top of Kiper's board as the biggest winner of the event.

Why the love? The Browns walked in with two first-round picks, courtesy of a trade deal they made with Jacksonville last year that sent the Jaguars to No. 2 to grab Travis Hunter. That gave Cleveland flexibility, and they had two glaring needs to fill on offense.

The Strategy That Changed Everything

So what did the Browns do? They went offensive tackle at No. 6 and wide receiver at No. 24. Then they went right back and hit both positions again on Day 2. The Spencer Fano and Austin Barber picks represent the final pieces of a complete offensive line rebuild that's been in the works all offseason.

"They ended up going OT-WR and then hitting both positions again on Day 2," Kiper wrote. "The Spencer Fano and Austin Barber picks could be the final touches on a complete offensive line rebuild this offseason."

One Piece Still Missing

Here's the catch: Cleveland still needs to nail down a starting quarterback in 2026. But with a reinforced offensive line and fresh receiving weapons, whoever takes that snap count in Cleveland is going to have protection and targets. That's a solid foundation heading into the season.
