The Dallas Stars Need a City Council Vote To Advance Their Arena, And Kraken Fans Know Why We're Built Different

Alright, listen up, Seattle. You might've seen some headlines floating around about the Dallas Stars and their arena situation down in Texas. Turns out, the city of Plano just took a big step, giving a unanimous council vote to advance the Stars' arena proposal. And honestly? My first thought was, "Man, we are SO lucky here in the Emerald City." While other teams are out there still getting fundamental business approved, we're just here, bleeding green and blue, focused on the absolute electric hockey happening at Climate Pledge Arena.

No Arena Drama For Our Boys

Seriously, think about it. We're not sweating over city council votes to figure out where our team calls home. Climate Pledge Arena isn't just a building, it's a fortress, a symbol of everything we've built here. You feel that energy the second you walk in, the roar of the 12s, the ice beneath our Kraken. We get to spend our days watching Matty Beniers develop into a true superstar, seeing the veteran presence of Jordan Eberle and Jared McCann leading the charge, and trusting Vince Dunn to lock down the blue line with Joey Daccord standing tall in net. That kind of stability, having a world-class home from day one, lets our guys just play hockey. It lets us focus on every hit, every goal, every save, instead of what some city planner is deciding.

What This Means For The League, And Us

Look, it's a good thing for hockey in Texas that the Dallas Stars are moving forward with their plans. More committed markets mean a stronger league overall, and that's good for the Kraken too. But while they're going through these steps, we're already locked in, building something special. We're integrating guys like Chandler Stephenson, excited about the potential of Berkly Catton and Kaapo Kakko, and seeing Brandon Montour solidify our defense. The focus in Seattle is always on the ice, on the team, and on the next win. We're not caught up in the kind of foundational business discussions that, frankly, feel like they belong in another era. We're just here, appreciating what we have and pushing our team forward. So, what's next for our Kraken? It's about taking that incredible foundation we have at Climate Pledge Arena and continuing to build on it, game by game. It’s about every player giving it their all, every night, for the greatest fans in the league. We're not just a team, we're a movement, and we’re ready for whatever comes next. Go Kraken!
