The Rockets Just Won Their 8th Straight and the NBA Playoff Race Is Getting Serious

With three game days left in the regular season, the NBA is in full chaos mode. Fourteen playoff seeds are still up for grabs, and if you've been sleeping on the Rockets, it's time to wake up. Houston just withstood a late Philadelphia rally to notch their eighth consecutive win, and they're looking like a team nobody wants to face come tournament time.

Durant Leads the Charge for Houston

Kevin Durant carried the offensive load for the Rockets, dropping 29 points while adding 7 rebounds and 5 assists. That's the kind of all-around game that wins in April. And here's something wild: Durant passed Oscar Robertson for sixth all-time in made free throws. The man is literally writing his name into NBA history every time he steps on the court.

Philly Can't Close It Out

The 76ers made a real push late, but Houston's momentum was too much. This is the story of the Rockets' run right now. They're not just winning, they're winning when it matters most. That's the kind of mental toughness that translates to playoff basketball.

The Race Tightens Up

The Rockets are one of several teams heating up as we barrel toward the finish line. The Lakers are sitting just 1.5 games back of the three seed and still chasing. The Knicks outlasted the Celtics 112 to 106 in a back-and-forth battle, with Josh Hart and Jalen Brunson combining for 51 points. Meanwhile, the Nuggets won their tenth straight game and are looking like a scary matchup for anyone when the real games start.

With only three game days remaining and fourteen seeds still undecided, every win matters. Houston is showing you exactly what that looks like.
