The Seahawks Just Lost a Corner to Dallas, and It Stings
The Cowboys just signed a former Seahawks cornerback, and yeah, this one hurts a little. A two time college football national champion, this guy has NFL experience with both the Rams and our Emerald City squad. Dallas pulled the trigger on bringing him into their secondary, and now he is wearing star colors instead of navy and green.
Another Piece of the Seahawks' Defense Walks Out the Door
Look, roster turnover is part of the game in the NFL. But losing defensive talent to division rivals or playoff contenders always stings a bit. This corner had seen time in Seattle and knows what it takes to compete in this league. His college pedigree speaks for itself, two national titles on his resume. The Cowboys clearly believe he can help solidify their secondary, and they are not shy about spending to fill needs.
What This Means Going Forward
Mike Macdonald and his coaching staff have been working to rebuild the defense from the ground up. With changes all around the roster, finding the right cornerback depth is crucial as we head deeper into this offseason. The secondary was already a work in progress, and losing proven talent to another NFL team is not ideal when you are trying to get competitive again.
The good news? There is still time to address these gaps before the draft rolls around. Macdonald has shown he knows how to scheme and develop talent, even with roster constraints. But moves like this remind us that free agency is a two way street. You win some, you lose some. Today, the Cowboys won, and we move on to the next opportunity.
