The Seattle Mariners were so good this year when it comes to their starting pitching staff.... It was one of the greatest gifts to be able to watch it. Even when their was some injuries, we got to see guys come in and step up. Let's give a big shoutout to:
- Logan Gilbert
- Luis Castillo
- George Kirby
- Bryce Miller
- Bryan Woo
- Emerson Hancock
If it wasn't for this dominant staff, the Mariners would not have been 1 game out of the playoffs to end the season.
The average MLB team has had 58 quality starts this year.

Yet, thankfully they DID NOT end up with the best ERA in the MLB, they ended with the 2nd best ERA... You are prolly wondering why we said thankfully?
Well, The Mariners were very close to be on pace to be the first team since the 1930s to lead the MLB in ERA and have the lowest batting average at the same time.

ERA: 2
Hits Allowed: 1
Earned Runs: 1
BB: 1
Opponent BA: 1
WHIP: 1
Quality Starts: 1
Shutouts: 2
What a waste!
They were also very close to having the worst record in history of baseball for a team to lead the league in ERA. So yes, thankfully we did not get there.
It would be really nice to say this good at pitching next year, and please find a way to get some bats next year....
