The Seattle Seahawks Lose To The New York Giants In The Worst Way Possible

Most Seattle Seahawks fans entered this week and probably circled this as a win. But the Seahawks hosted the New York Giants and lost in devastating fashion 29-20. The Seahawks found themselves in a hole down 10 points late in the fourth quarter. Geno Smith orchestrated a beautiful drive to bring the Seahawks within three points. After stopping the Giants, the Seahawks got the ball back with just under two minutes remaining. A good drive found the Seahawks in field goal range with a chance to tie the game, and well, what happened next cost the Seahawks a chance at OT.

The Giants blocked Seahawks field goal kicker Jason Meyers' attempt and returned it for a touchdown to give the Giants a 29-20 lead with under one minute remaining in the game. The game ended with that score. The Seahawks fell to 3-2 on the season and will host the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday Night Football in week 6 of the NFL season.

My thoughts are, this team has a lot of good things going for them. But the inability to block and establish any running game today forced us to throw the ball quite a bit. Geno Smith had another solid game but, he was sacked a staggering seven times. The defense also felt like it could not get off the field on third down. The only good news for the Seahawks is, the rest of the division is all sitting at 2-3 or worse and a win against the 49ers could give the Seahawks a two-game lead over the reigning division champs.
