The Washington Huskies are being disrespected plain and simple. Look, I know the team lost their head coach in Kalen DeBoer and I know stars like Michael Penix Jr, Rome Odunze and more have taken their next steps into the NFL. But the fact that the team is ranked outside the top 25 in the first AP poll is further proof that AP voters might have no idea what they are doing at times.

The Huskies are being compared to TCU from a year ago who reached a national championship then had a disaster of a season. But at least TCU started the season ranked 17th last year. And that’s probably what the voters should have done with the Huskies. Instead they left the Huskies out of the top 25.

Let’s not forget Jedd Fisch took a much less talented Arizona team than this Huskies team to a 10-3 record and a top 15 finish in the AP Poll. And adding the fact the Huskies finished top 10 in the final transfer portal rankings, don’t be surprised to quickly see the Huskies back in the top 25 after I believe they will begin with a 5-0 record (largely due to their easy schedule at the beginning of the season). So yes the Huskies are being overlooked and disrespected but it’s time we show the College Football world we are ready to play with the big boys of the big 10.
