The Worst NFL Teams Of All Time
There have been some really bad NFL teams throughout the years. But these ones take the word bad to new heights. Here are the worst NFL teams of all time.
25. 1978 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-11)
This was the second season in existence for the Buccaneers. They did that with a league low 161 points while allowing 28.3 PPG.
24. 1986 New York Jets (4-12)
Ken O'Brien at QB threw 16 INTs and they had the worst ranked running game in the league. The 4 wins earned them last in the AFC East.
23. 2005 Cleveland Browns (3-13)
Romeo Crennel's defense was atrocious. they gave up 5.8 yards per play. All three of the wins came against teams that were below .500.
22. 2014 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-14)
Love Smith second year in charge and Mike Glennon was the starting QB. The defense gave up a staggering 405 points through the season.
21. 2012 Kansas City Chiefs (2-14)
They limped to two wins with QBs Matt Cassel and Brady Quinn. They ranked last in both yards and points allowed.
20. 2009 St. Louis Rams (1-15)
Sam Bradford had a very disastrous 8.9 touchdown percentage. And Steve Spagnulolo's defense gave up 32.7 points per game.
19. 1991 Indianapolis Colts (1-15)
Jeff George's rookie season was a complete mess. They had a ton of roster cuts and a bad offseason which depleted the team.
18. 2021 Jacksonville Jaguars (3-14)
Urban Meyer was a complete disaster as an NFL head coach. The defense allowed 30.4 points per game the worst in the league.
17. 1973 Houston Oilers (1-13)
They had a run and shoot offense under coach Sid Gillman and it flopped. QB Dan Pastorini threw 20 INTs.
16. 2020 New York Jets (2-14)
Adam Gase put Sam Darnold back years. And the defense was an absolute disaster. Both wins came against last place teams.
15. 1992 Seattle Seahawks (2-14)
The Seahawks offense was atrocious under Tom Flores. They put up a staggering 8.8 points per game earning the nickname "Ground Zero". Cortez Kennedy was the lone bright spot on the team.
14. 1971 Buffalo Bills (1-13)
OJ Simpson's first year with the Bills he rushed for just 742 yards. They allowed 31 points per game and came out with just one win.
13. 1982 Baltimore Colts (0-8-1)
It was a strike shortened season but the Colts got just 1 tie during it. The offense sputtered and basically was non existent.
12. 1985 Buffalo Bills (2-14)
The Bills were only able to put 194 points total the whole season. But, it did lead the Bills to getting the pick to draft Jim Kelly.
11. 2019 Cincinnati Bengals (2-14)
Zac Taylor's first year resulted in two wins. This was behind QBs Andy Dalton and Ryan Finley.
10. 2011 St. Louis Rams (2-14)
Another bad year for the Rams here on the list. They lost seven straight games to finish out the season.
9. 2007 Oakland Raiders (2-14)
Lane Kiffin's first and only season as the Raiders head coach. Jamarcus Russell was also a disaster and this was a season to forget.
8. 1996 New York Jets (1-15)
In 1995 they finished 10-6. But then the following season was a disaster. The QBs were both Neil O'Donnell and Chad Pennington.
7. 2016 Cleveland Browns (1-15)
They came back for some extra misery under Hue Jackson. They won their opener then went on to drop 15 straight.
6. 2000 San Diego Chargers (1-15)
This foreshadowed how big of a bust Ryan Leaf would be. 18 Interceptions and a 50 passer rating for Leaf.
5. 2007 Miami Dolphins (1-15)
Cam Cameron's offense managed 16.7 points per game. And the QBs were a disaster in Cleo Lemon and John Beck.
4. 2001 Carolina Panthers (1-15)
George Seifert at head coach this team was a disaster. Rookie QB Chris Weinke couldn't get it done and 15 of their losses were by double digits.
3. 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-14)
They were a brand new expansion franchise and were never competitive. They scored a total of 125 points all season long.
2. 2008 Detroit Lions (0-16)
The defense was horrid. They gave up 517 points (32.3 per game) and the offense struggled under Jon Kitna. It was the beginning of a 8 year playoff drought.

They were a product of poor QB play. The offense couldn't score with just 18.7 points per game. And Hue Jackson simply could not find any spark.
