The Giants and Cowboys are going primetime to kick off the 2026 NFL season. New York and Dallas will square off in Week 1 under the Sunday Night Football lights, setting the tone for what promises to be an intense early matchup in the NFC East.

The rest of the Giants' 2026 schedule will go live Thursday, May 14 at 7:30 p.m. ET on the team's website, app, and social media channels. Fans can expect the full slate of opponents to be revealed across all platforms simultaneously, giving everyone a clear picture of what lies ahead.

A Classic Rivalry Gets the Primetime Treatment

There's nothing like Giants-Cowboys football in Week 1 to get the NFL season rolling. The two franchises have a storied history, and kicking off 2026 with this matchup immediately raises the stakes for both teams. It's the kind of opener that sets expectations early and forces both squads to come ready.

With John Harbaugh now at the helm of the Giants organization, the team is building something new. The focus shifts to how this club will perform when the lights are brightest, and Week 1 against America's Team provides the perfect stage for that statement.

Looking Ahead to the Full Picture

Once the complete schedule drops on Thursday night, Giants fans will finally see the full slate of opponents and be able to map out what the season could look like. From there, all eyes shift to the start of the regular season when the real work begins.

The primetime assignment is a sign of respect for both franchises. Now it's up to each team to deliver when it matters most.
