Peter Schrager Could Get His Own ESPN Show and It's Part of a Massive Network Shakeup

ESPN is making some serious moves with its daily lineup, and Peter Schrager is sitting in the catbird seat. According to reporting from The Athletic, the network is planning to slot Schrager into a new afternoon show at 2 p.m. ET, right after "The Pat McAfee Show" wraps at 2 p.m.

This comes as part of a larger restructuring at the Worldwide Leader. After "Around the Horn" aired its final episode in May 2025, that 5 p.m. slot got filled with SportsCenter. Now ESPN is considering another shift: keeping SportsCenter in that former ATH slot while giving Schrager his own platform in the 2 p.m. hour. The network also added McAfee's show to the daily schedule, so they're definitely recalibrating how they want to organize the afternoon.

Schrager Has Put in the Work

This isn't coming out of nowhere. Schrager has been a regular fixture across ESPN's shows, appearing on "Get Up," "NFL Live," and McAfee's program. He's even filled in for Mike Greenberg as "Get Up" host, which apparently impressed the producers enough to think he could carry a show of his own. The guy has made an impression, and it's showing.

Nothing Is Final Yet

Here's the catch: ESPN hasn't pulled the trigger officially. According to sources briefed on the plans, Schrager is the "likely winner" for the 2 p.m. hour, but no decisions are locked in. ESPN declined to comment, so we're in that holding pattern where anything could still change. The network is clearly high on Schrager's potential, but the ink isn't dry yet on whether this actually happens. Stay tuned.
