Lane Kiffin's Five-Star Tight End Is Already Drawing First-Round Buzz and LSU's 2026 Reload Is Just Getting Started

Lane Kiffin walked into Baton Rouge and didn't waste any time building something special. His first full roster at LSU is loaded with five-star talent, and two names are already turning heads: Trey'Dez Green and Jordan Ross are leading a talent surge that has the Tigers looking loaded for the 2026 season.

Trey'Dez Green Is Ready to Dominate the SEC

Green signed as a five-star back in 2024 and spent 2025 becoming one of the SEC's most dangerous tight ends. The 6-7 pass catcher emerged as a legitimate weapon last year and is now primed for an All-SEC caliber season. Here's the crazy part: scouts are already talking first-round NFL buzz for 2027. That's the kind of trajectory that turns a tight end into a game-changer at the college level.

Jordan Ross transferred in from Tennessee and brings serious pass-rush ability to Kiffin's defense. When you combine both of those guys with a roster that also features Lamar Brown leading the defensive line, DJ Pickett developing at cornerback, and Jordan Seaton looking like a future top NFL pick at left tackle, you can see why expectations are climbing fast in Baton Rouge.

The Quarterback and Running Back Combo Rounds Out a Five-Star Core

The skill position talent doesn't stop there. Husan Longstreet arrived from USC with major arm talent at quarterback, while running back Harlem Berry brings explosive playmaking from New Orleans. That five-star group underscores just how aggressive Kiffin's roster rebuild has been heading into 2026.

Week 1 Is Under the National Spotlight

Kiffin's debut as head coach will open with all eyes on him. ESPN College GameDay is heading to Baton Rouge for Week 1 when LSU takes on Clemson at Tiger Stadium. This is a rematch from last year when LSU won 17-10, though both programs finished 7-6 after preseason top-10 hype and are now trying to reset expectations under new pressure. Week 3 brings the storyline everyone's talking about: Lane Kiffin facing his former program at Ole Miss, and LSU could be featured in multiple early-season showcases as the national spotlight stays locked on the Tigers.
