The Reigning Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker Is "Stronger Than An Ox" for the Chiefs and Every 12 Is Feeling The Burn

Alright, 12s, deep breaths. This one stings, like a paper cut on your soul. Remember our guy, Kenneth Walker III? The dude who ran wild for us, the guy we thought would be a cornerstone for years? Well, he's gone, rocking a Chiefs uniform now, and guess what? He's already lighting it up. Not just lighting it up, but getting rave reviews from the Chiefs' top brass, and honestly, it just makes the whole thing hurt even more. Our reigning Super Bowl MVP is doing his thing elsewhere, and it's a gut punch.

Andy Reid Can't Stop Praising Our Former Star

The pain of seeing Kenneth Walker in red and gold is real, but the news coming out of Kansas City isn't making it any easier. Chiefs Coach Andy Reid, after watching Walker in their offseason program, basically said the guy is everything they hoped for. He's got "a ton of energy," Reid told ESPN. Can you believe it? That fire, that passion we all saw at Lumen Field, it's still there, just in a different city. Reid added that Walker "loves to play the game" and "wants to learn what we're doing here." We always knew K9 was a worker, right? Reid made sure to highlight that, saying Walker "gets that it takes work to be good, and he's willing to do that." But the part that really twisted the knife for me? Reid's description: "Stronger than an ox. I mean, he’s put together." Yeah, we know, Coach. We know. And it hurts to hear someone else say it.

Mahomes Is Already Loving His New Weapon

It's not just the legendary Coach Reid singing praises either. The guy throwing him the ball, Patrick Mahomes himself, is already totally bought in. Mahomes and other offensive players have apparently been blown away by how eager Walker is to get involved in every single part of their offense. Mahomes pointed out, "You can tell he truly cares about football, he cares about his teammates." Sounds familiar, doesn't it? Our guy always had that team-first mentality. Mahomes even mentioned how Walker is constantly engaged, saying, "If he's not in the play, he's helping the guys on the sideline and he's trying to learn and [is] asking me questions." The Chiefs made a huge investment in Walker, dropping a three-year, $43 million contract on him. And while it's just early offseason work, the buzz is palpable. Reid and Mahomes clearly think he's off to a seriously strong start.

Look, 12s, this is just the beginning. The season hasn't even kicked off for real, and these are unpadded practices, but the writing is on the wall. Kenneth Walker III, the reigning Super Bowl MVP, is already making waves in Kansas City. For us in the Emerald City, it’s a tough pill to swallow, knowing what we let walk away. Our Seahawks, with Sam Darnold, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Rashid Shaheed, and Cooper Kupp, are focused on their own future under Coach Mike Macdonald and OC Brian Fleury. But seeing our former star excel elsewhere? It makes you wonder what could have been. We’ll be watching, even if it’s through gritted teeth. What do you even say when your guy, the Super Bowl MVP, is already that good for another team? Just another reason to bleed blue and green and root even harder for our squad to prove everyone wrong.
