Trey'Dez Green Is Drawing First-Round Buzz and Lane Kiffin's LSU Reload Just Got Real
Lane Kiffin's first full roster build at LSU is loaded and ready to go. The Tigers are heading into 2026 stacked with five-star talent, transfer additions, and the kind of depth that signals serious long-term plans in Baton Rouge. But here's what matters most: Trey'Dez Green, the five-star tight end who emerged as one of the SEC's most dangerous weapons in 2025, is already drawing first-round NFL attention for 2027. That's the kind of trajectory that changes how defenses prepare.
A Tight End and a Pass Rusher Leading the Charge
Green signed as a five-star in the 2024 class and developed into a weapon for Kiffin's offense last season. At 6-7, he's primed for an All-SEC year and the pre-draft hype is real. He's not alone either. Jordan Ross transferred in from Tennessee and brings serious pass-rush ability to a defense that needed it. These two headline a roster built for immediate production on both sides of the ball.

The loaded core doesn't stop there. Quarterback Husan Longstreet arrived from USC with major arm talent. Running back Harlem Berry brings explosive playmaking from New Orleans. On defense, Lamar Brown leads the defensive line as the top recruit. DJ Pickett is developing into a key cornerback after a freshman season last year. Jordan Seaton bolsters the offensive line and looks like a future top NFL pick at left tackle. This isn't just a roster reload, it's a full-scale roster transformation.
Week 1 Spotlight: Clemson Comes to Tiger Stadium
Kiffin's debut gets the national stage treatment. ESPN College GameDay is heading to Baton Rouge for Week 1 when LSU takes on Clemson at Tiger Stadium. This is a rematch following last year's 17-10 LSU win, and both programs finished 7-6 last season after preseason top-10 hype. Now both programs are looking to reset expectations under new pressure. Early-season showcases and the national spotlight are on the Tigers immediately. Week 3 brings the LSU vs Ole Miss matchup, where Kiffin faces his former program. The schedule alone signals that LSU is built to compete right now.
