Vancouver Surge Just Swept Minnesota 3-0 and They're the Only Team in CDL Stage 3 With a Perfect Record
The Vancouver Surge walked into Call of Duty League Stage 3 qualifying on Friday and did what nobody else could: go undefeated on opening day. While the rest of the CDL field stumbled through their openers, Vancouver stayed perfect with a clean 3-0 sweep over G2 Minnesota, and all three maps came down to the wire.
Surge Survived the Sweatiest Maps Against Minnesota
These weren't blowouts. Vancouver eked past Minnesota 250-249 on Gridlock Hardpoint (literally one point), then took Raid Search and Destroy 6-4, and closed it out 7-5 on Scar Overload. That's the kind of grinding, back-and-forth esports that makes you clench your controller. Minnesota had chances. They just couldn't finish. Now Vancouver sits alone atop the standings at 1-0 with a perfect map differential of 3-0.

Paris Gentle Mates also went 1-0 on Friday, but they needed all four maps to beat Carolina Royal Ravens 3-1. Paris opened with a loss on Gridlock Hardpoint but came back to win Den Search and Destroy 6-3, Den Overload 4-1, and Sake Hardpoint 250-188. The Los Angeles Thieves went 1-0 as well, downing the Miami Heretics 3-1. LA started hot with Sake Hardpoint 250-137 and Fringe Search and Destroy 6-5, then held on when Miami grabbed Scar Overload 5-3. The Thieves finished it 250-197 on Colossus Hardpoint.
Carolina and Miami both dropped to 0-1. G2 Minnesota is winless at 0-3 in map differential.
