A Longhorns Duo Is Already Projected Top 2 for 2027 NFL Draft and the League Has to Be Watching

Okay, look, I know what you're thinking. "Seattle On Tap, why are we talking about the Texas Longhorns?!" And yeah, I get it. We bleed green and blue here in the Emerald City, all about our Seahawks, Kraken, M's, and Sounders. But listen up, because sometimes college football news just hits different, especially when it's this wild. We're talking 2027 NFL Draft already, and a duo from Texas is projected to go one-two. Yeah, you read that right. Top TWO picks, nearly two years out! The college game is absolutely buzzing, and if you care about the future of the NFL, this is HUGE.

Get Ready for the Future: Texas Talent Taking Over the Top

Seriously, folks, a new mock draft dropped, and it's got a pair of Longhorns sitting at the very top of the 2027 NFL Draft board. That's a duo from one single college program projected to be the first two players off the board. It's an insane level of talent, and it tells you everything you need to know about what's brewing down in Austin. This isn't just a flash in the pan either, as former Longhorn star Anthony Hill Jr. just reached an NFL milestone, showing their pipeline is real. When you've got that kind of elite-level output, every pro scout is already doing their homework. The 2026 season for Texas football is going to be under an intense microscope, and you know their five most important games are going to get prime time viewing from NFL GMs.

Arch Manning and the Next Wave of Longhorn Football

Speaking of the future, guess who's medically cleared for summer workouts? None other than Arch Manning, and you know his uncle Eli had some important rules for him to follow. This kid is part of a fresh wave of talent hitting the Forty. They just landed a commitment from Lithuanian Mantas Laurencikas, and welcomed a top 2028 recruit to campus. Plus, the No. 2 tight end recruit, Brock Williams, committed to the Longhorns on ESPN. Even their coach, Steve Sarkisian, has some big gripes with college football, which tells you the stakes are always high. Texas is absolutely stacking up talent, which just adds to the hype around that 2027 draft class. It's going to be a wild ride watching these guys develop.

Beyond the Gridiron: Texas Dominates Across the Board

But wait, there's more to this Texas story than just pigskin! Their baseball program is also crushing it, ranked No. 5 in the Coaches Poll and nabbing the No. 2 seed in the SEC tourney. Dylan Volantis was named SEC Pitcher of the Week, and both Volantis and Robbins are Golden Spikes semifinalists. Plus, a trio of their baseball guys got invited to Team USA Training Camp, and Carson Tinney is moving closer to winning the Buster Posey Award. Even their softball team advanced to the NCAA Super Regional! On the hardwood, Anthony Pack Jr. was named SEC Freshman of the Year, and former Longhorn Dailyn Swain is even a name floating around in NBA Mock Drafts. Declan Duru Jr. committed to UC Santa Barbara, too. This isn't just a football school, folks. It's a full-on athletic powerhouse.

So, yeah, while we're obsessing over every play at Lumen Field, every Kraken goal at Climate Pledge, or every bomb Cal Raleigh or Julio Rodriguez drops at T-Mobile Park, it's good to keep an eye on these college programs. The talent coming out of places like Texas is shaping the entire league, and you know our teams are going to be scouting these guys hard. Who knows, maybe one of these Longhorns will be wearing green and blue one day. That's a future to look forward to, right?
