Antonee Robinson's 10 Premier League Assists Are Back on the Rise and Chelsea Fans Should Be Sweating

Alright, listen up, Emerald City! You thought we were done with the transfer drama? Nah, man, not even close. Chelsea, yeah, *that* Chelsea, is apparently waving goodbye to Marc Cucurella, who's reportedly off to Real Madrid. This isn't just a minor lineup tweak, folks. It leaves new boss Xabi Alonso with only one senior left-back on the roster, a dude named Jorrel Hato. After finishing a dismal 10th in the Premier League last season, this ain't exactly the fresh start Chelsea fans were dreaming of.

The Blues Need a Big Move, Like, Yesterday

Think about it. You just finished 10th, you've got a new coach in Alonso who supposedly has more say in who gets signed, and your main guy at left-back is packing his bags. Hato, the young Dutch talent, had a solid debut season, sure, but he didn't even lock down the starting spot from Cucurella. So, what's the plan? Just roll with one guy? That seems like a recipe for disaster. Chelsea's gotta make some serious moves, especially considering the mess they're in right now.

Can "Reheated Soup" Save Chelsea's Season?

So, who could step in? First up, there's Myles Lewis-Skelly. He's a versatile, silky, ball-centric player who fits Alonso's style. Problem? He's under a long contract with Arsenal, and they're not letting go cheap. Then there's a blast from the past: Lewis Hall. The dude was a Chelsea academy product, left in 2023, and totally blossomed into a well-rounded defender with creativity and solidity up at Newcastle. Now, the Italians got a saying, "La minestra riscaldata non è mai buona" or "reheated soup never tastes as good." But Newcastle finished even lower than Chelsea last term, so maybe returning south isn't such a bad offer for Hall. It wouldn't be the first time Chelsea bought back a gem they let slip away.

The USMNT Star Who's Exploding Right Now

But the real heat is around Antonee Robinson. This dude is a straight-up force of nature. During the 2024,25 season, he became the first Fulham player *ever* to hit 10 Premier League assists in a single campaign! He was just as productive on defense, too, generating buzz from all the big clubs. Here's the kicker, though: he hasn't created a top-flight goal since February 2025. That's because knee surgery last summer wrecked his start to the 2025,26 season. But guess what? He's fit, he's firing, and his stock is back on the rise. Manchester United is reportedly sniffing around! At 28, he's a bit older than what Chelsea usually targets, but after the struggles of a super young squad, some experience wouldn't hurt, right? Chelsea's got some serious decisions to make before this window closes. With Cucurella out the door and a massive need for a game-changer at left-back, Alonso's choices could make or break their season. You gotta wonder which way they'll go, because the stakes couldn't be higher.
